sony t500 black front open Sony Finally Intros an HD Point and ShootTo date, we are shocked, shocked that Sony has not released a point and shoot with 720p video recording. Especially since its marketing campaign called HDNA cross products, the lack of HD cameras in its range has been unclear. Finally, Sony on board: the new Cybershot DSC-T500 does just that. I saw a demo a few weeks ago, and because it uses a more advanced codec (MPEG-4 AVC/H.264) than its competitors, namely, Kodak and Panasonic’s image was more accurate color and exposure (which is saying a lot because it gave me lots of love for Kodak cameras 720p).

The camera has 10.1 megapixel 5x optical zoom, 3.5 inch touch screen, ISO up to 3200, HDMI output, Intelligent Scene Recognition, Face Detection, reading, filter waste can face, and smile shooting settings. It will cost $ 399.

olympus1 Olympus Unveils a Rugged, Superzoom, and Point and ShootOlympus debuted three cameras today, and they couldn’t be more different from one another. The lineup includes the SP-565 UZ, a superzoom with a 20X lens; the Stylus 1050 SW, a ruggedized point-and-shoot; and the Stylus 1040, Olympus’s slimmest camera to date. To some extent, they seem to be refreshes: we put the 18X SP-560 UZ to the test in a superzoom test drive we did last year, and the 1050 SW looks similar to the 1030 SW, which we reviewed, although it boasts some important differences- namely, a 3D accelerometer. As for the 1040, it’s about the style more than the specs (although those aren’t bad, either). All of them will be available in October, and, like all Olympus cameras, they take xD cards.

To begin with the SP-565 UZ (pictured at right), it upgrades, as said, from an 18X to a 20X optical zoom. It has a 10-megapixel sensor, dual image stabilization, perfect shot preview, face detection, in-camera editing, 33 shooting modes, and the ability to take 13.5 pictures per second (albeit, at three megapixels). Its Shadow Adjustment Technology compensates for backlight before you take the picture, which is refreshing since some companies’ only allow you to adjust the shadows after you’ve pressed the shutter, and manually, to boot. It will cost $399.

olympus fe360 Olympus Debuts 2 Budget Point and ShootsWhether your needs are at the base, you can fly four and five hundred dollar cameras we’ve been drooling over lately, and opt for something simpler. Olympus FE-360 and FE-370, announced today, the cost of $ 149 and $ 199 respectively, with standard specifications and a beautiful color palette. Both have eight megapixels (which is plenty for most users) and detection of faces, but the FE-360 features a 3X optical zoom, while the FE-370 has a 5X lens more versatile.

olympus fe370 Olympus Debuts 2 Budget Point and ShootsApart from the factor of the difference in zoom and fifty dollar difference in prices, some important features distinguish high-end FE-370 FE-360. On the one hand, it has dual image stabilization, while the FE-360 digital (it is strongly recommended optical image stabilization, but double is often better than digital). It has Intelligent Auto mode, and I love how it fits with sport mode, which Sony and Kodak are not intelligent automatic modes. Other features include Smile Shot and Edit the expression, a “fun” feature that allows users to modify the terms of the subjects face after the photo was taken.

sony cybershot dsc t700 Sony Intros 2 Point and ShootsIt’s a busy day in the new camera! Today, Sony introduced two point and shoots, the Cybershot DSC-T700 and DSC-T77. The T77 is pretty basic, but the T700 is interesting because it has 4 GB of internal storage. That’s enough space to store 1,000 images in full resolution (10.1 MP) or 40,000 of the VGA. In organizing device seems to be a growing trend among manufacturers of cameras, and is an excellent starting point: for those who like to show moving pictures, and would not use a capture device and a PMP for the storage, a good idea.

zi6 1 Hands On With Kodak’s Zi6 Pocket HD CamcorderFlip impostors we start rolling in (anyone remember the Creative Vado?), But Kodak Zi6, announced yesterday, is the first handheld camcorder that can give a deadline for Pure Digital cash needed 720p video at 60 frames per second, a slot for SDHC cards with capacity of 32 GB size, and, unlike the Yanks, you can take still images (with a dedicated macro mode, start-up). We were among the first stores to get a review unit, and we’ve had this little (or not so little) spin type. Here are our first impressions.

    Design

Compared with the Flip Mino ($ 99.99), the Zi6 is huge, but has a size comparable to most Flip Ultra, which has always been enough light to perform. But while the Flip Ultra looks like a toy Fisher-Price, Zi6 has the same sleek look as the MOTOZINE ZN5 Kodak Camera: It has a satin black (or pink) again, a lens does not protrude, matte silver accents and a sharp 2.4-inch screen. In addition to the lens is a button at the top of the USB connector. The Zi6 comes with 2 AA rechargeable batteries.

zi6 2 Hands On With Kodak’s Zi6 Pocket HD CamcorderCenters around a joystick interface platform five-way navigation which doubles as a joystick red record button. The switching between VGA, HD, HD60, and photo mode still requires the joystick from left to right, are unintuitive. Accompanying the joystick buttons to remove the content, stop reading, and the playback mode input-output.

On the left side of the camera are HD AV ports on the bottom is a tripod port and on the left side is a slide switch mode Macro-and this is our favorite from an SD / SDHC cards can do more than 32GB. Here, Turn!

flipfaceoff 1 Cheap Camcorder Face Off: Creative Vado vs. Flip Video UltraIt does not take a camcorder expert to see that the new Vado pocket camcorder from Creative ($ 99 for 2 GB) is very similar to the popular Pure Digital Flip Camcorder (Ultra Series) ($ 149 for 2 GB). While Flip is rumored to come out with a new, smaller “Mino” version of your camera, we could not wait to do more Flip Ultra contras last fierce rivals.

Each camera has its own characteristics, and both offer video recording and easy transfer capabilities, but only one will come out as the winner. We will show our full review of the Creative Vado, but here are our first impressions on the hands. Discover how these types of Vado, round by round, against their old rivals.

    Design / Interface

flipfaceoff 2 Cheap Camcorder Face Off: Creative Vado vs. Flip Video UltraCreative Vado: The design of the money (also available in pink) Creative Vado is certainly cleaner and more elegant than the Flip Ultra Video. The silver cover is soft to the touch and the buttons are easy to handle.

3.9 x 0.6 inches X2.2 Vado is thinner and lighter than the Flip, easily slipped into a jeans pocket, and not cause a booster pump. A USB port swing rows at the bottom of the device.

Vado menus are easy to navigate and the selection of buttons on the device are the same as those found on the flap. There is a four-way D-pad a record button in the center, a play button, and a trash can / delete. ”

Pure Digital Flip Video Ultra: 4.1 x 2.2 x 1.2 inches Flip can no longer claim to be the world easier or small camcorder. Besides the Vado looks like the Flip Ultra model large. Our White Flip Ultra sounds simple, but it lacks the elegant style of the Vado.

Flip the menus are simple enough for a novice user, but the placement of record button in the center of the D-Pad is difficult to press, which accidentally hit some buttons when they simply meant to record a video. We found the same problem with Ford since the record button a little more heart.

Today I had the opportunity to pitch in TZ50west nePanasonic Panasonic Lumix point-and-shoots, the TZ50 Wi-Fi ($ 449) and touch screen decorated FX500 ($ 399). We take our own units ready soon, but meanwhile, here are some first impressions:

panasonic tz50 Hands On with the Lumix TZ50 and FX500

    DMC-TZ50

As noted earlier, the TZ50 is integrated 802.11b / g Wi-Fi, integration with Google Picasa, and work at places like T-Mobile HotSpot. (Bonus: Comes with one year of free service.) Much to the embarrassment of my guests today, took several attempts to successfully download the photo, and when he did took a few minutes. To be fair, even if we were in a hotel with a T-Mobile HotSpot, we are not in the same room as your router. Otherwise, there is much to like about the first Wi-Fi camera from Panasonic:

    * Unlike EyeFi that automatically downloads all your photos at once, the Panasonic interface lets you cherry pick your albums that you take Google’s Picasa.
    * While the main attraction of having a Wi-Fi camera is that you can upload photos on the fly, you can also use Panasonic interface to display your Picasa album when you’re away from your computer.
    * The camera is an excellent power management, uses less than one watt when Wi-Fi is active, which means you can download images and still take about 300 photos before the battery offers.

panasonic lumix dmc fx5002 Hands On with the Lumix TZ50 and FX500

    DMC-FX500

What I like the camera screen from Panasonic is the first contact coPanasonic FX500mpany obviously not brought a touch interface just to be fashionable. They seem to have learned from other companies, including small icons allow ourselves unnecessarily spice to the screen with the relatively large size fingers. In addition to a pen, the FX500 has a panel of buttons on the right side of the LCD screen as a device without touching, you can always return to the traditional input button if you feel frustrated. (Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T300 will not give users this option.)

But they have not yet learned the best part (they have buttons next to a touch screen, after all, not long ago). Panasonic FX500 screenAlthough capacitive touch not touch the touch screen is more intuitive than the cameras of the other touch screen, where all you can do is press the icons as if “they were the buttons. Here you can adjust the focus by dragging your finger a slide on the screen (remember to unlock the iPhone). Better yet, when you’re in playback mode, you can click a photo in which you want to enlarge and drag your finger to move the image. If only I could slip through images that I can on the iPhone.

It is too early to say I’m impressed, but I know I’m excited about the idea more concrete time with these new models. Stay tuned for full reviews.

p80 front34r on Nikon Releases 18X Super Zoom, Makes Us Drool

Shnikes Holy See. As much as we like Nikon digital SLR entry-level, the company gives photographers P80matuer CoolPix Anikon another reason to consider high-end super-zoom instead. The Coolpix P80, today announced the bags, 18x optical zoom, 10.1 megapixels, and a variety of features designed for more advanced users, including aperture priority, shutter-priority and manual mode. It also has Nikon’s Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) technology for more stable shots, and has a new continuous shooting mode of Sports, which allows users to take up to 30 consecutive shots at four, six or thirteen paintings by second. It also has ISO up to 6400 (but, of course, you must enjoy it 5MP) and a large 2.7 inch LCD screen.

All this for $ 399. Not bad when you consider that you get creative manual SLR (minus the steep learning curve), and more zoom you get with a standard lens kit.
